009 - What Is Wrong With The Divorce Court System?
Welcome to episode 009! This is a unique show because instead of having the usual format with one guest, I decided to have a few different guests from various backgrounds answer the same question about divorce. It adds a little flavor to the show!
The question I posed to our guests was: What do you think is the biggest problem with the divorce court system today and why do you feel that way?
The answers were interesting!
The guests that participated were the following:
Randall Kessler
Randall M. Kessler founded the law firm now known as Kessler & Solomiany, LLC, a 30 person family law firm in Atlanta. He is the author of many family law books including Divorce: Protect Yourself, Your Kids and Your Future, The GA Library of Family Law Forms, and How to Mediate a Divorce. He is an adjunct professor of Family Law Litigation at Emory Law School. Mr. Kessler has served as the Chair of the Family Law Sections of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia and the Atlanta Bar Association. He has over 30 years of experience in Domestic Relations and Family Law matters including divorce, custody, paternity, prenuptial agreements and child support.
Michael Wacht
Michael is one of the administrators of a divorce group on Facebook called Divorced, Separated, and Single Parent Support. There are more than two thousand members of this group.
Brandi Weikle
Brandie Weikle. She’s a former editor-in-chief of Canadian Family magazine. Brandie has also been the parenting and relationships editor for the Toronto Star, founding editor of two Toronto Star websites, and an editor for Today’s Parent. She writes a column called Modern Family for the Toronto Star, and is working on a book called The Ex Next Door: How a New Generation of Parents is Redefining Life After Divorce. Brandie is a single mother of two in Toronto and a frequent television and radio guest on parenting topics. She also does speaking engagements on the topic of positive co-parenting. She provides one-on-one divorce coaching and is the leader of a lively international Facebook Community called Positive Co-Parenting After Divorce.
Audrey Zada - Worthy.com
Audrey is the host of the popular divorce podcast, Divorce & Other Things You Can Handle, which is run by Worthy.com. If you don't know, Worthy is a great resource if you're looking to sell your ring or other valuables you may have from your marriage. I found it so interesting, I'm having Audrey on a future episode to just talk about how that process works and why it's important if you are getting divorced.
I hope you enjoy the episode. I will try to do more compilation shows like this in the future.
