Jacqueline Harounian is a Partner of the Law Firm of Wisselman, Harounian & Associates, P.C., established in 1976, a recognized leader in the field of matrimonial and family law, (US News and World Report, 2019.) She began with the firm in 1993 as a clerk while in law school, and became a partner in 2006. Her unique multidisciplinary background, including a graduate degree in Behavioral Forensic Psychology and Family Systems Therapy, enables her to adeptly handle complex divorce and custody matters in the Family and Supreme Courts on Long Island and New York City. In 2019, she was appointed to the Board of the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association, and she currently serves as co- Chair of the Matrimonial Committee. Her article, "Legal Implications of Religious Divorce", was recently featured in Nassau Lawyer and presented at the WBASNY 2019 annual convention. Harounian lectures regularly to attorneys, law students, mental health professionals, accountants, and women’s groups, and is a sought after speaker for a range of topics including financial and legal empowerment, religious divorce (Islamic Mahr, Jewish Gett), sexual and cyber- harassment, parenting issues, intellectual property in divorce matters, and mental health/addiction issues.
